The 4 C’s In a Diamond Grading
Cut
'Cut is King’. A diamond is beautiful because of its brilliance-Its brilliance is created by human input-the CUT. This is the main factor that affects a diamond price many consumers back understanding.
Color
A diamond’s color impacts both its appearance, hence its value. Normally the color grades start from D-Z in GIA and 0.0-10 in AGS. Colors beyond Z is considered as ‘Fancy Color’ and are graded in a different way. Diamond values through the normal range then begin to increase once color strength reaches the fancy range. Colorless Diamonds-these are the 1st group i.e. D E F Near colorless diamonds-G H I and J also included.
Clarity
CLARITY-This could be an interesting factor. The impurities in diamond create a finger print that is unique to that diamond-the same way people has got their moles or marks making it easier to identify their characteristics. GIA has 11 clarity grades FL-I3. AGS has 0-10. There are many types of inclusions which are the subject of interest and discussion amongst shoppers. Some believe inclusion represents impurities and could bring bad luck…and so on. But practically the impact of many diamond clarity grades on diamond
beauty is small. You can choose a VS1 clarity which is eye clean that you will need a magnifying glass to see it. This will save you money.
Carat
Carat is a measurement of weight. 1 carat=200mg and usually measured in Point. 1 carat=100 points. Diamonds are sold by the carat not by dimensions. Diamond cutter must carefully plan the cut in a way to maximize both the diamond weight and its brilliance. Consumers must be aware of diamond with thick girdle or deep cut to compromise weight as it will lose its brilliance.
The Other 3 C’s
Certificate
Diamond grading certificate comes from diamond grading laboratories. It is not always necessary to have a certificate if you want to save money, you can understand well about diamond quality, you don’t need diamond insurance, and you don’t want to sell it back in future. Otherwise, a certificate is important if you are spending in $1000’s.
Cost
Now this is the most important factor. High cost does not always mean high quality. High quality products doesn’t have to always bear high cost with SAAT GROUP Company. And a bigger stone does not mean you have to pay more if the other factors fail. Price of a 1 carat can varies from a worthless $10 to $20000 for a natural diamond. So consumers must at least understand the basic 7 C’s about diamond industry if they are going to spend $1000’s for it. The main reason we started our diamond business journey was because we have witnessed many members of our family and friends have been ripped off buying diamond jewelries from greedy businesses.
And we see this happens everywhere at a shop and online. So with the love of jewelries and gemstones we decided to step in to challenge the status quos and started to save them money and heart aches. We are not the biggest or the best but we surely will save
you money more than anyone else. And that we can guarantee.
Conscience
Consumers are now becoming more aware of conflict or blood diamonds and the damages done to our planet by the mine. They should know the source of diamond which will help if those diamonds have been purchased legitimately. We only source our diamonds from ethical businesses which follow the Kimberley Process Rules to make sure our diamonds are clean. We strongly support sustainable products which have little effect on Earth. We believe you would do the same.
